Danish defender Andreas Christensen's contract at Camp Nou ends in June 2026. The Danish defender Andreas Christensen will be out of action for several months after being diagnosed with a knee ligament injury on Sunday. Christensen, who plays for Barcelona, the leader of the Spanish football league, suffered the injury during a training session on Saturday. Barcelona stated in a statement: "Christensen is suffering from a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee due to an unfortunate twist of the knee during Saturday's training session." The Catalan club added that Christensen will undergo conservative treatment (without surgery), while Spanish media reported that he will be sidelined for four months. The 29-year-old defender is expected to miss the playoff matches for the 2026 World Cup, in which the Denmark national team will face North Macedonia in March. Christensen joined Barcelona from English Chelsea in 2022 and has suffered injuries throughout his time with the team.
