Thus, the blue and white team reached tenth place, with 25 points, and got seven points closer to the UEFA Conference League qualifying zone, while the 'Pericos' are fifth, with 34 points. The first chance was for the visiting team, before the first minute of play, with a corner kick that was shot on the first try by midfielder Pablo Ibáñez, which went near the far post. Espanyol took the lead when 14 minutes had passed, with a cross from the left by full-back Carlos Romero, which Fernández headed to the near post to make it 1-0. Seven minutes later, Ibáñez controlled a ball inside the area and took a shot after a half-turn, which was low and saved by goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic. The equalizer came at 26 minutes, with a volley from outside the area by Antonio Blanco, which went in near the right post of Dmitrovic, who was blocked and reacted late.
