In Benidorm (Alicante), National Police agents have arrested three people as a result of an operation that seized 2,164 grams of cocaine from a vehicle, and at a residence, 1,570 grams of hashish, 19 grams of ecstasy, 12 grams of pink cocaine, and several utensils for drug manipulation were found.
The Drug and Organized Crime Unit (UDYCO) of Benidorm conducted the investigation that culminated in the arrest of the two main suspects. During the search of the vehicle, agents found two packages containing the cocaine. Subsequently, during the search of the detainees' home, more drugs and tools intended for the distribution and sale of illicit substances were seized.
Two Italian men aged 33 and 49, along with a 37-year-old Spanish woman, were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and belonging to a criminal group. The investigation began after the existence of a cocaine distribution point in Benidorm that supplied drugs to different leisure areas of the city became known.
During the inquiry, the location from which the suspects operated was identified as a residence in the municipality. After the arrest of the main involved parties, the third member of the criminal group was located. All detainees have been made available to the Benidorm duty Instruction Court.
It was reported that the dismantled criminal group used the residence as their main base. The main suspect had a previous work relationship with a hospitality establishment and used this, along with his friendships with the workers, to coordinate drug and money transactions at that location.
The investigation concluded with the interception of the main suspect's vehicle, where packages that appeared to contain narcotic substances were found during one of the surveillance operations carried out by the agents.
