Spanish Journalist Praises Burgos's Copa del Rey Victory

Spanish sports journalist Javier Hernández showered praise on Burgos, led by Argentine businessman Marcelo Figoli, following their recent Copa del Rey victory over Getafe, stating they will be "fighting for a spot in the top five" until the end of the season.

According to Noticias Argentinas, Hernández believes the club is "on the right track" and highlighted the win against a club with a "70 million euro budget", such as Getafe.

The journalist, who also works as a horse racing commentator, shared his view on the club's current situation during a full resurgence on the "Solo X Deporte" show on Splendid AM 990, hosted by Pablo Díaz.

The "Burgalesa" institution made headlines last Thursday by defeating Getafe 3-1, coming from behind in the match. Played at their home ground, the Estadio Municipal de El Plantío, this victory secured their place in the Spanish Copa del Rey round of 16.

Regarding this result, Hernández emphasized they defeated a club "with a budget of over 70 million" and focused on Burgos's humility, noting that in Spanish football, "there are projects worth hundreds of millions that don't succeed." He added that this win will give them "confidence and security", proving they are "working on the right path" and he is confident they will "reaffirm this" throughout the season.

As for their promotion chances, the journalist rated them as "one of the most serious candidates for promotion to La Liga" because they have "a very good, well-thought-out project" devised by "good people." However, he also recalled that the Spanish Segunda Division is "very long", consisting of 42 matches.
