In the Great Via Crucis on October 11 in Córdoba, the participation of numerous prominent brotherhoods is expected. Among those confirmed are the Jesú Nazareno of Córdoba, La O, El Calvario, El Buen Suceso, Perdón de Córdoba, among others. María Santísima de la O of Córdoba is one of those confirmed to attend the event.
The grand procession will be presided over by Bishop Demetrio Fernández as part of the celebration of the sixth centenary held by Blessed Álvaro de Córdoba for the first time. The common route for the steps participating in the Great Via Crucis will need to be determined in the coming days. Additionally, the Most Holy Christ of the Remedios of Córdoba has also confirmed its presence at the event.
The participation of Jesús Resucitado of Córdoba is assured to close the prayers of the Via Crucis. This event, which will feature around twenty invited steps, is an important occasion for the brotherhoods in the region, most of which have given their approval and will subject the final decision to a vote in the coming days.
Moreover, the presence of figures such as Our Father Jesús Caído of Aguilar de la Frontera and Coronación de Espinas of Fernán Núñez is expected. The transfers of the images from their canonical homes to the Cathedral will mark a special week for the city, attracting devotees not only from Córdoba but also from other regions.
Regarding the palios that will be present, it is emphasized that the Virgins with the invocation of Hope will be included in reference to the Jubilee Year 'Pilgrims of Hope', being part of the novelties of this brotherhood celebration in the autumn of 2025. The locations of the different participating steps will also be another aspect to consider in this highly anticipated event in the city of Córdoba.
