Last Tuesday night, the Brotherhood of Forgiveness officially announced that Our Father Jesus of Forgiveness will participate in the Great Stations of the Cross that will be held on October 11. This image and the mystery it represents have been selected for being in line with the third station of the Stations of the Cross of Saint John Paul II.
The Brotherhood of Holy Wednesday communicated that the final decision regarding the participation of its titular figure in this pious event will be made on March 25, after receiving the invitation from the Group. In the statement, they expressed their gratitude to the Diocese of Córdoba and the Group for considering Our Father Jesus of Forgiveness for the Great Stations of the Cross.
The Great Stations of the Cross 'Córdoba Sacred Way of the West' will commemorate the 600 years since Blessed Álvaro of Córdoba began to pray the Stations of the Cross in the West. The major event between October 11 and 19 already has the confirmation of about twenty participating brotherhoods.
On the other hand, the brotherhood of the Most Holy Christ of Mercy and Our Lady of Sorrows of Montoro also confirmed its participation in the Great Stations of the Cross. After deliberation, the governing board of the brotherhood decided to accept the invitation to attend with their images at the main religious temple of the diocese.
It is important to highlight that, in the case of the Brotherhood of Forgiveness, in the 2019 event they declined the invitation to participate, so we will be attentive to the voting that will be held in March to determine their presence in this year's Great Stations of the Cross.
