According to recent data, 24.5% of inquiries about gender-based violence come from the victims' environment, primarily from friends, mothers, siblings, and other family members. In the province, a total of 92 accommodations for women in shelter resources have been managed, experiencing a 17.9% increase compared to the previous year. Of the active cases of gender-based violence in Córdoba, 56% correspond to women with children under their care.
In the province of Córdoba, 1,995 interactions have been recorded, with the third quarter of the year receiving the highest volume of calls at 555. Of the total inquiries managed, 69% are related to gender violence, and 92 accommodations for victims of gender-based violence have been processed. The inquiries mainly refer to violence exerted by partners or ex-partners, followed by sexual violence and other forms of violence.
Regarding the profile of users, women aged between 41 and 50 predominate, followed by those aged between 31 and 40. The majority of the women served are of Spanish nationality, although the service has received users from 68 different nationalities. Additionally, the phone line for Andalusian women has recorded a 3.4% increase compared to 2018, handling almost 2,000 calls in 2024.
On the other hand, the Andalusian Institute for Women offers various services, programs, and activities, including specialized legal advice for victims of gender violence, immediate telephone assistance against sexual violence, training and co-education counseling, and support for women and girls victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation.
During the past year, this service has received a total of 44,117 calls in Andalusia, with a 9.4% increase compared to the previous year and a 49.2% increase compared to 2018. The helpline remains operational 24 hours a day, connected to Emergencies 112, and handles an average of six interactions daily.
