The Civil Guard has suspended the rescue operations for the narco-submarine found adrift off the Costa da Morte. During the maneuvers to bring it to Camariñas, in La Coruña, with the help of external companies, the section of the semi-submersible that was still floating ended up sinking.
According to statements from the authorities, the rescue of the narco-submarine did not succeed and the operation has now been suspended. The Civil Guard and other specialized units attempted to tow the vessel but could not prevent it from sinking completely. Despite the efforts made, the result was not as expected.
"It is unfortunate that the rescue of the narco-submarine has not been successful despite the hard work of the teams involved," said a spokesperson for the Civil Guard. The complexity of the operation and the adverse conditions in which it was carried out further complicated the situation.
