Córdoba's Holy Week Shines at Fitur 2023

Córdoba's Holy Week promotes its cultural and spiritual heritage at the Fitur International Tourism Fair. The event aims to boost tourism and highlight its importance globally.

The Holy Week of Córdoba has arrived at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) with the aim of connecting the public with this celebration throughout the year. The presentation took place at the José Luis García Palacios Cultural Center of the Caja Rural del Sur Foundation, organized by the Brotherhoods and Cofradías Association.

The Brotherhoods and Cofradías Association of Córdoba seeks to highlight Holy Week as a cultural heritage of universal value and promote its role as a tourist attraction, consolidating its position as an international reference in the brotherhood world. The celebration of the Cofrade Fair of Spain and Ibero-America in Córdoba this fall has been announced as part of the Córdoba Capital Cofrade project.

The event aims to raise awareness of the material and immaterial heritage of Holy Week, promote its external projection, and highlight its role in business dynamics. Conferences on popular religiosity in Ibero-America will be held, and exhibitors such as candle makers, florists, music bands, goldsmiths, carvers, gilders, image makers, and embroiderers will gather.

During the presentation, the poster for Holy Week 2025, created by the artist Jesús García Osorno, and the official promotional video were unveiled. These initiatives aim to position Córdoba as a reference for religious and heritage tourism. With the support of Imdeec, the first edition of the Cofrade Fair of Spain and Ibero-America was announced, aiming to project the Córdoba Capital Cofrade brand internationally.

The presence at Fitur emphasizes the importance of projecting Córdoba's Holy Week as a unique attraction to capture the attention of national and international visitors. This celebration has been declared a National Tourist Interest Festival, positioning the city as a destination where tradition, art, and devotion intertwine. In addition, a digital reading point was introduced with a QR code for easy access to this year's brotherhood events program.
