Inauguration of the Andalusian Market in Córdoba

The Andalusian market has been inaugurated in Córdoba with colorful parades and a mix of artisan products. Local artisans showcase their traditional crafts and unique food offerings, attracting tourists and locals alike.

A group of artisans and hoteliers have gathered at the Andalusian market taking place around the Torre de la Calahorra. Among them stands out Juan López, who is in charge of distributing different artisanal products. One of the most eye-catching stalls is that of Vanesa Ramos, originally from Torrijos in Toledo, where hand-painted mouse traps from the Ratón Pérez are offered, along with other products. Ramos has been in this peculiar itinerant business for over thirty years, which has taken her to various places in Spain.

Vanesa Ramos comments: "Every child is an adventure, some succeed on the first try, others do not, but they leave delighted thanks to playing with clay and water." Meanwhile, at the market, there are stalls with giant candies and activities such as pottery classes for adults and children, who can make their own utensils on small lathes.

Visitors can also taste mead, a traditional alcoholic beverage believed to be one of the oldest. At this market, artisanal variants of mead are offered, such as sweet, semi-dry, flavored with vanilla and berries, among others. Another attraction is the stall of Esther Caínabate from Hellín in Albacete, who transforms fuet into an exquisite product with varieties such as Manchego cheese, ham, walnuts, boletus, truffle, among others.

The inauguration of the Andalusian market was carried out with a colorful parade from the Puerta del Puente, accompanied by music, belly dances, and costumes recreating characters from past eras. The market stalls offer a wide range of products, from handmade soaps to honeys and diverse crafts. This market, which seeks to transport visitors to ancient times, has been warmly received by both strollers and tourists.
