The community and parish of the Trinitarians announced last Sunday the events of the Jubilee Year for the 50th anniversary of the canonization of Saint John Baptist of the Conception, celebrated in the parish of Our Lady of Grace and Saint Eulogio. This event will mark the beginning of a broad program of activities that will include liturgical celebrations, conferences, artistic exhibitions, and cultural events to commemorate the life and legacy of Saint John Baptist of the Conception.
Among the most notable events of the Jubilee is an extraordinary procession of the urn with the saint's relics, which will take place on February 15 from the Cathedral of Córdoba to the temple of the Fathers of Grace. Likewise, on May 25, the day of the canonization, a thanksgiving Mass will be celebrated, presided over by Pedro Aliaga, provincial minister.
The poster and logo of the event, created by Juan Manuel Ayala, were presented by Father Sergio García and parish priest Manuel García. These works highlight the spirituality of the reformer saint and capture the moment when Pope Paul VI declared him a saint. Furthermore, the participation of the Auxilium Christianorum choir and the children from the Trinitarians school will be featured during the celebrations.
Saint John Baptist of the Conception was born in Almodóvar del Campo in 1561 and died in Córdoba in 1613, where his remains still rest in the parish of Our Lady of Grace and Saint Eulogio. The novena in his honor will take place from February 5 to 13 with the participation of Trinitarian preachers from Rome and other parts of Spain.
The Trinitarian Jubilee commemorates the canonization of Saint John Baptist of the Conception 50 years ago and seeks to deepen the figure and work of this saint, who left a message of hope for the Church and the current world. The jubilee will conclude on June 15, Trinity Sunday, with the active participation of the Trinitarian community and various institutions linked to the parish.
The presentation of the urn with the relics at the main altar is just the beginning of what promises to be a time of reflection and devotion in honor of Saint John Baptist of the Conception.
