The Brotherhood of Peace has entrusted the Cordoban goldsmith Jesús de Julián with creating the theological virtues of charity and faith in sterling silver. These figures will be located on the side drapes of the marquee of María Santísima de la Paz y Esperanza. The agreement was signed by the elder brother of Peace, Julio Mifsut, and the goldsmith, who was part of the brotherhood and had previously created the silver crescent for the coronation.
Each of the virtues will be represented by the body of a woman. The brotherhood announced this decision on Wednesday night, highlighting that the side drapes are part of an ongoing work at the Salteras Embroidery workshops and will be presented on the next Holy Wednesday. With the completion of the drapes for the Virgin's marquee, this artistic task will be completed.
Charity will hold a heart in flames in her right hand, while faith will be represented with blindfolded eyes. Both figures will be a significant contribution to the ornamentation and symbolism of the step of Peace and Hope. In a show of collaboration between the brotherhood and local artistic talent, this new addition is expected to enrich the procession and the experience of the faithful during Holy Week.
