The Association of Brotherhoods and Cofradías of Córdoba has scheduled an extraordinary Lenten concert titled ‘The Music of God for Córdoba’ to be held on Sunday, March 30 at noon at the Grand Theater of Córdoba. The show will be directed by Manuel Roldán Roldán, musical advisor of the association of the Most Holy Christ of Grace, and will feature the participation of the Musical Association of El Carpio as guests.
According to the official statement issued by the Association, the concert program will include processional marches of great spiritual depth, such as ‘Prendido por Amor’, ‘Reo de Muerte’, ‘Virgen de la Alegría’ and ‘Lux Resurrectionis’, composed by Manuel Roldán Roldán for the National Congress of Brotherhoods of the Resurrected last November in Córdoba.
Tickets for the concert will soon be available at the headquarters of the Association of Brotherhoods and Cofradías of Córdoba, and can be obtained through a symbolic donation destined for social works. Additionally, the Association of Brotherhoods and Cofradías of Córdoba has been very active in different events recently.
The band of El Carpio performed on December 30, 2024, accompanying the Divine Shepherd of Capuchinos in its annual procession through the streets of the Center. This year, the musical association is celebrating its 35th anniversary and has participated in various processions and concerts, such as the extraordinary procession with the relics of Saint John the Baptist of the Conception of the Cathedral.
Moreover, the Association is scheduled to participate in the bands contest for the 35th anniversary of the Musical Association Jesús Cautivo of Villa del Río on Saturday, March 15, and to offer a concert of marches on Sunday, March 16, at the parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. This extraordinary Lenten concert is part of the cultural programming of the Association.
Last year, the Extraordinary Lenten Concert of the Association featured the participation of the Maestro Tejera band from Seville, which presented a Córdoba repertoire. The Association is also preparing an exhibition on the creation of the Holy Week poster for 2025, which will be inaugurated in the Presidencia gallery of the Palacio de la Merced next Sunday and will showcase more than 30 creations by Jesús García Osorno.
