On the night of Saturday, February 1, a 16-year-old teenager died after being stabbed in the abdomen while with friends in the bank and flowerbed area of the El Arenal fairgrounds in Córdoba. Young people often gather in this place to drink.
The events occurred around 10:20 PM, when several calls alerted the 112 Emergency Coordination Center about the injured young man. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, the life of the teenager could not be saved.
The National Police's Homicide Group is investigating the case and is looking for the perpetrator of the crime, who is apparently another minor. Although details about the motive for the dispute are unknown, the police seem to have identified the alleged culprit.
The National Police is gathering testimonies from the young people who were present at the time of the incident to arrest the person responsible for the teenager's death.
The area of the El Arenal fairgrounds where the incident occurred is often used by young people for activities such as drinking. Authorities have cordoned off the area where the benches and flowerbeds are located, in addition to a banner suggesting a birthday celebration.
The 112 reported that the National Police and medical services were alerted, who took the injured young man to the Reina Sofia University Hospital in Córdoba, but unfortunately, his life could not be saved.
