The Supreme Court of Spain has rejected the appeal filed by Carlos González, who sought to have the sale of Córdoba CF declared null. This decision marks a definitive setback for the former president in his attempts to regain control of the club.
The grounds for the rejection were a procedural error in the filing of the appeal. The magistrates stated that González had mixed heterogeneous and varied issues in a single point, which would have required separate treatment. They explained that an appeal must be structured into distinct points, with each alleged infringement formulated separately.
Consequently, the court deemed the appeal inadmissible, preventing a review of its merits. It should be recalled that in November 2019, the Córdoba CF SAD was declared bankrupt, and Francisco Estepa was appointed as the administrator. In November 2022, the Provincial Court of Córdoba had also dismissed González's appeal against the sale of the club's business unit to the Bahraini fund Infinity.
