Celebration of Virgen de la Candelaria Procession

The procession of Virgen de la Candelaria began with heartfelt prayers and silence, celebrating the half-century of the Huerto brotherhood's renewal. Attendees filled the streets, honoring the beloved Virgin with roses and silent rosaries. A special musical premiere is expected for the following day as the crowning event approaches.

The Virgin of Amparo was illuminated by candelabras with pale pink roses. The procession, led by the guiding cross of the Garden and its lanterns, was accompanied by a large group of acolytes with candles. Our Lady of Candelaria began her night journey on a litter from the Compás of San Francisco, entering the narrow streets towards the Cathedral.

The moments were marked by prayer and silence, interrupted only by the prayers of the faithful. The brotherhood of the Garden publicly celebrated the half-century of its re-foundation with a mass and the triduum in honor of the Virgin in its church. During the blessing of the offerings to Our Lady of Candelaria, a large influx of faithful was observed who accompanied her throughout the night journey.

In the evening transfer, with a shorter route, the Virgin of Candelaria advanced on a litter provided by the brotherhood of the Star, recalling the sorrowful mysteries. This smaller-scale procession preceded the parade on Saturday, which will cover a more extensive route, including emblematic streets like Deanes. The Virgin will be triumphantly carried under a completely embroidered gold canopy, highlighting the work of the embroiderer Joaquín Salcedo.

Saturday's event will feature a special musical premiere, the anthem march 'Dulce Virgen Candelaria,' created by María Jesús Amaro and Rafael Fernández Bretones. The atmosphere was filled with emotion and anticipation for the arrival of this long-awaited moment.
