A fishing boat working in the area located this morning at sea, near the Mar de Fóra beach, in Fisterra (La Coruña), the body of a young girl who, pending DNA confirmation, is believed to be the missing 14-year-old girl from Ordes (La Coruña) who disappeared nine days ago.
The discovery occurred around 9:40 AM, 1.5 miles from Mar de Fóra beach, where the young girl had been lost more than a week ago. The boat that made the discovery, the 'Costa do Sol', found the body in the cliff area of Mesa Regada.
The Salvamento Marítimo Salvamar Régulus vessel was mobilized to recover the body and transport it to shore, where it will be taken to Imelga for an autopsy and confirmation of identity. The operation also included agents from the Guardia Civil, volunteers from Fisterra Civil Protection, and psychologists from the Catastrophe and Emergency Intervention Group.
Although the identification is provisional, the same sources indicate that the characteristics and clothing she was wearing suggest that it is indeed the missing young girl, which is why the search operation that had been ongoing in the area for nine days has also been suspended.
The family of the minor reported her disappearance on Tuesday, the 22nd, after she did not return home from school. Investigations and the location of her phone determined that she had taken a bus to Santiago that day and from there, to Fisterra, where she maintained phone contact with friends.
