Buenos Aires, January 26 (NA) – Getafe drew 1-1 away against Girona on Monday in a match corresponding to the 21st round of the Spanish League, held at the Municipal de Montilivi stadium. According to the Argentine News Agency (NA), former Boca Juniors striker Luis Vázquez scored the visitors' goal at the 14th minute of the second half, while Vitor Reis marked the equalizer at the 49th minute of the same period. In this way, the Madrid team could not hold the result and take three points to move away from the relegation zone (they finished 17th, one point behind Real Mallorca), while the draw placed the team led by Spanish coach Míchel in tenth place with 25 units. After a first half with few clear danger chances in which the hosts were close to taking the lead with a shot from Thomas Lemar that hit the post in the 25th minute, the visitors opened the scoring with a goal from Argentine striker Luis Vázquez, who pushed the ball into the back of the net in his La Liga debut after a pass from Juan Iglesias. When it seemed the duel would end in favor of Getafe, Brazilian defender Vitor Reis headed in a cross from the left to score the equalizer, already in stoppage time.
