Feijóo Criticizes Sánchez's Government Amid Salary Debate

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, criticizes the coalition government's handling of the minimum wage taxation issue, labeling it as populist and harmful to workers. He emphasizes the division within the government and advocates for fair taxation policies that benefit low-income earners.

The president of the Popular Party (PP), Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has expressed his concern about the current division in the country and criticized the Government's management, pointing out a presumed collapse that is becoming increasingly evident. In this context, Feijóo addressed the position of Pedro Sánchez's Executive against the administration led by Donald Trump, labeling the measures taken, especially regarding minimum wage taxation, as 'populist politics'.

Feijóo, accompanied by the president of the PP in Catalonia, Alejandro Fernández, emphasized that the increase in the minimum wage does not translate into a real increase in the purchasing power of workers, but rather as a fiscal benefit for the Government. The president of the PP denounced what he considered a 'fiscal hell' in Spain and defended a policy that protects the interests of workers and companies, promoting productivity and reducing absenteeism.

Other parties like Podemos and Sumar, allies of the coalition Government, presented similar proposals demanding a dignified income for workers and lower tax pressure. Feijóo criticized the Government's actions regarding minimum wage taxation, describing it as 'a mockery of citizens' and 'populism'. The PP leader introduced legislative proposals to reverse this measure and exempt the minimum wage from income tax.

Regarding the Government's foreign policy, Feijóo questioned the confrontation with the Trump administration, indicating that it will not solve problems for Spanish farmers. During a visit to an agricultural company in Catalonia, Feijóo highlighted the Government's lack of credibility and criticized its stance on the conflict in Ukraine between Trump and Putin, considering that not involving Ukraine and Europe would not be a viable solution.

Amid the political tension in the Government over minimum wage taxation, Feijóo reiterated his position against this measure, emphasizing the need to protect the lowest incomes and denouncing the use of the minimum wage increase as a mechanism to increase tax revenue. From an agricultural company in Catalonia, Feijóo emphasized the importance of adopting policies that benefit both workers and employers, advocating for fiscal restraint in taxes and greater productivity in companies.
