The Prosecutor's Office requests a sentence of 30 years in prison for five alleged offenses of continued sexual assault, as well as measures to keep the accused away from a girl whose testimony was deemed credible by experts from Imelga. The suspect's provisional freedom is maintained, as determined by the judge in the order opening the oral trial sent to the Provincial Court of Lugo.
The allegations in this case of sexual abuse committed by a music teacher at a school in Lugo are conflicting. The hearing is pending a date and is expected to take place in a few months. The key lies in determining whether the assaults, which the accused denies, occurred and how many minors were victims of them. The reported conduct caused great discomfort to the complainant, leading her to refuse to attend class and file complaints with the teacher and the school administration.
The Prosecutor's Office has brought charges for a continued offense of sexual assault on a minor under 16 years old, based on the report from Imelga which validated the complaint of one of the girls. Other families who reported abuse by the teacher did not have their cases corroborated by the experts. In this context, five families have formed a private prosecution in the case, asserting that the assaults did occur.
It is alleged that on several occasions during classes, the teacher abused his authority to touch the minor in intimate areas. The prosecutor is seeking a sentence of 5 years in prison for these acts. The remaining complaints, eight in total, were not validated by the forensics, who considered that the claims expressed by the minors had no real basis. The teacher must pay a bond of 3,250 euros as part of the preventive measures.
