Top Schools in Madrid: Best Average Scores

The IES San Mateo leads with the highest average at 8.62, followed by the Colegio Villa de Griñón at 7.88. A comprehensive overview of top-performing schools in the Community of Madrid reveals significant educational achievements.


In the Community of Madrid, three centers with the best averages over the last five years have been highlighted. The first is IES San Mateo, a public institute in Madrid, which has maintained an average of 8.62 out of 10 in the University Access Evaluation (EvAU). Following is the Villa de Griñón School, a private management institution, with an average score of 7.88, and in third place is the private institute Legamar, in Leganés, with an average of 7.75.

Among the other 16 centers with averages of 7.5 or higher in the Community of Madrid, three public institutes stand out: Malala Yousafzai and Alfredo Kraus in Madrid, and Ciudad Escolar in Fuencarral-El Pardo. IES San Mateo has presented an average of 120 students each year in the exam over the last five years.

The Villa de Griñón School ranks as the second educational center with the best average in the Community of Madrid in the last five years, while IES San Mateo stands out for having the highest average score in the EvAU during that period throughout the region.

In the capital of Madrid and in other locations such as Las Rozas de Madrid, Pozuelo de Alarcón, and Rivas-Vaciamadrid, there are also educational centers that have obtained outstanding averages in the EvAU. Conversely, several institutes with lower averages in the region have been identified, including public ones like Numancia in Puente de Vallecas and several private institutions.

The Excellence Baccalaureate in the capital is notable, where students have achieved an average score of 8.62 over the last five years, surpassing other institutions across the region. The map of the Community of Madrid shows the averages of the mandatory block of the EvAU between the years 2018-2019 and 2022-2023, reflecting the performance of educational centers in the region.
