University of Madrid Invites Diverse Participation for Master Programs

The Complutense University of Madrid is seeking diverse participants for two master programs, emphasizing the need for qualified profiles amid discrepancies in student numbers reported.

Begoña Gómez addressed the companies that were part of the advisory committee of the Extraordinary Chair that she directed at the Complutense University of Madrid in September 2021. She asked them to promote the two master's courses being offered under that umbrella because, according to an email submitted to the Court of Instruction number 41 in Madrid, the profile of the students enrolled so far was not the desired one. In the message, Gómez expressed her desire to have the companies' collaboration to spread the master's programs "Master in TSC and Master in Fundraising Management" among their contacts, organizations, collaborators, and suppliers. She explained that the professional experience of the participants was not as desired to achieve a quality ecosystem like in the previous edition, where interesting projects emerged that contributed to Competitive Social Transformation within companies. According to the statement, in the first edition, companies such as Reale, Caixabank, Iberdrola, ONCE, Banco Santander, Quirón Salud, and Coca Cola Europacific Partners participated, as well as entrepreneurs and independent professionals. The aim was again to form a diverse team representing various sectors and companies of the economy, both large companies and SMEs. On the other hand, the number of enrolled students in the master's programs is also a subject of investigation, as two witnesses provided contradictory figures and Judge Juan Carlos Peinado requested documentation to clarify the situation. An executive from Grupo Barrabés mentioned a dozen students, while the deputy director of Fundación laCaixa had confirmation of 248 students according to an email from Begoña Gómez. The enrollment process for the master's programs had already begun, and the Complutense University, in response to the judge's request for information about the students and the payments received, asked for clarifications to preserve the privacy of third parties. Despite this, the head of legal services at the institution is summoned to appear on November 18 regarding the case.
