At the Arab House in Madrid, the presentation of the employers' association Conpymes took place, with the support of the Government during its launch. Among the attendees at the event was the third vice president Yolanda Díaz from Sumar. This event marked Conpymes' attempt to position itself as an alternative to the CEOE.
José María Torres, president of this independent employers' association, committed through an addendum to contribute 6,000 euros for the sponsorship of the Begoña Gómez chair at the Complutense University. This addendum was signed under an agreement that also involved the participation of Reale Seguros and Fundación LaCaixa.
The specification of this contribution included the participation of Torres or his delegate in the Joint Monitoring Committee of the agreement. This detail was agreed upon in the 2020-2021 edition and subsequent editions of the postgraduate programs integrated into the chair, aimed at promoting training for SMEs, entrepreneurs, and non-profit organizations.
Begoña Gómez, as the director of the extraordinary chair of Competitive Social Transformation at the Complutense University, was the godmother at the launch event of the employers' association Conpymes. During the presentation, she offered a lecture on "social impact as an opportunity". The presence of the wife of the president of the Government and her collaborator in managing the chair, Cristina Álvarez, at a joint event on May 21, 2021, highlights the relevance of this initiative.
