Castilla y León Shines at Madrid Fashion Week

During the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Castilla y León showcased 12 designers, emphasizing the growing impact of fashion in its economy, representing 5% of the industrial sector.

The Councilor for Industry, Commerce, and Employment of the Junta, Leticia García, has expressed her pride in the fashion of Castilla y León and reaffirmed the commitment to continue supporting local designers and creators. Within the framework of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Madrid, recognized as the most prominent fashion runway in the country, the president of CEOE Castilla y León, Santiago Aparicio, emphasized the importance of the presence of the fashion sector from the region at this event, describing it as an excellent showcase for local designers and manufacturers.

During these days, 12 designers have the opportunity to present their collections and showcase their creativity in a special stand within the Uniendo Moda project, developed by the Junta and CEOE Castilla y León. Leticia García highlighted that fashion represents a growing sector within the Castilian-Leonese economy, generating five percent of industrial activity and an annual turnover of more than 200 million euros. The goal is to promote regional fashion, open new markets, and foster local talent.

In this context, it has been announced that five designers from Castilla y León will participate in the Showroom Beautiful in Paris, from March 6 to 9, including Isabel Martín Atelier, which will soon be present at Paris Fashion Week. Additionally, the participation of emerging creators such as Manuel Pérez (Riper), winner of the Young Designers competition in 2013, was highlighted, and designers like Sara Santiago Design and Tocados Zeleste, from León and Salamanca respectively, were mentioned.

The president of CEOE Castilla y León was enthusiastic about the diversity of fashion sectors present in the Community and the opportunity to showcase haute couture collections, ready-to-wear, accessories, and footwear at an internationally renowned event. He emphasized the importance of the Uniendo Moda project to connect designers and companies, promote collaboration, and leverage the sector's synergies. The presence at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week also allows attendance at runway shows by prestigious designers such as Fely Campo, one of the most relevant names in the fashion of Castilla y León.
