ARCOmadrid 2025: Promoting New Spanish Artists

The director of ARCOmadrid, Maribel López, highlights the main goal of the fair to promote Spanish art and introduce new artists internationally. Various initiatives have been implemented to achieve this objective, such as establishing awards for artists under 40, encouraging the participation of younger and bolder galleries, and facilitating the presentation of individual artists' projects in a dedicated space.

The International Contemporary Art Fair ARCOmadrid 2025 focuses on attracting both national and international collectors and buyers, including Ibero-Americans, through specific and sometimes imperceptible strategies. In an upcoming edition with the participation of 214 galleries from 36 countries, an International Collectors Program has been created to offer visits and personalized advice to 350 international collectors, as well as public institutions and 50 international art advisors.

Maribel López mentions the importance of enhancing the commercial and professional success of all those involved in the fair, from gallery owners to artists, providing facilities for the discreet transactions that often occur in this field. ARCOmadrid also seeks to highlight more radical and risky projects among the 32 presented this year, emphasizing that art goes beyond luxury and investment, constituting support for heritage and the brand Spain.

With a smile, López comments that the transition from buyer to collector occurs when more space is needed for the acquired works. The presence of international experts, recognized collectors, and influential gallery owners, as well as special programs for new collectors, reinforces the relevance of ARCOmadrid as a meeting and dissemination platform for contemporary art.
