The figure of Pope Leo XIV is now part of the permanent collection of the Madrid Wax Museum. He is depicted with his arms open in a welcoming gesture. The new figure joins those of popes John XXIII, John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and Francis. In a press release, the museum highlights the realism and meticulous craftsmanship of the new papal figure. Pope Leo XIV is dressed in the papal habit made from real fabrics and Venetian wool, and is wearing the characteristic red shoes of the popes. He has grey hair and glasses. The Spanish museum presented the life-sized figure on Wednesday. It was created by technicians, sculptors, and painters over a period of four months. Leo XIV was elected on May 8 of last year, on the second day of the conclave, to succeed Francis, who passed away on April 21.
