Call for Entries Open for Roberto Ercolano Award for Argentine Filmmakers in Madrid

The Roberto Ercolano Award was created in 2021 in conjunction with the Colegio Mayor Argentino de Madrid and remains, edition after edition, a free category designed exclusively to promote Argentine audiovisual talent abroad.

With the aim of promoting and encouraging Argentine filmmakers, the call for entries for the Roberto Ercolano Award has been officially opened in Madrid. This is a special category for Argentine-authored short films as part of the Madrid Film Awards (MADFA).

Entry to the competition is completely free and will remain open until March 1, 2026. Preliminary results will be announced on March 15, while the final nominees will be announced on March 22, 2026.

Both the nominees and the winner will be able to list the recognition on IMDb, a key added value for the international projection of the filmmakers.

Short films by Argentine filmmakers can apply within a category created specifically to support creators from the country, which is outside the international competition and functions as an independent recognition within the festival.

One of the main attractions of the award is that the five nominated short films will receive full board and lodging during the event and the preceding day at the Colegio Mayor Argentino de Madrid.

In addition, the winner will receive the MADFA statuette, which will be presented during the awards ceremony on the famous Gran Vía, at the historic Palacio de la Prensa.

The selection process will be in charge of the festival director, who will evaluate the projects and choose the five best short films.
