The opposition in the Community of Madrid is pushing for an investigation into the contracts between the Quirón Group and the regional government, seeking to highlight the relationship of Isabel Díaz Ayuso's partner with this company. In response, the regional president agreed to discuss "the mask scandal of the ministries" in Parliament.
The Provincial Court supported the expansion of the investigation into the alleged payment of half a million euros to the wife of the president of Quirón Prevención, which according to the prosecutor could constitute a hidden commission. Más Madrid is seeking to include Ayuso in the investigation, to which the president responded defiantly, claiming they can accuse as they wish.
Isabel Díaz Ayuso defended the Quirón Group as a major European health group with years of collaboration with the Community of Madrid, emphasizing the quality of hospitals such as Jiménez Díaz. Amid the accusations, she questioned why private businesses are attacked through parliamentary immunity, insisting that they have no relation to public management.
On the other hand, Más Madrid submitted a request in Congress to investigate alleged favoritism in healthcare contracting on a national level, including Madrid. The opposition leader accused the Quirón group of being involved in shady dealings related to Ayuso's partner and being a major contractor for the Community of Madrid. The discussion is focused on possible irregularities in the procurement of healthcare materials during the management of former minister Salvador Illa.
