Ayuso Ignores López's Criticism After Supreme Court Ruling

Madrid President Isabel Díaz Ayuso continues to ignore criticism from new socialist leader Óscar López, who accuses her of "shenanigans" and "private parties paid for by everyone."

Given the polls that have been released, which continue to show the PP of Ayuso with an absolute majority in the region, that strategy is not working for Minister López. He has also not attended the meetings held by the president with the parliamentary spokespeople and their teams. However, this Monday Ayuso did refer to Óscar López. When López has had the opportunity to attend the Assembly, at least as a guest, for relevant events such as the debate on the state of the region, he has decided not to do so and has not been seen. The Secretary General of the Madrid Socialists has once again confirmed how the President of the Community of Madrid is ignoring the attacks he has been launching against her since the Supreme Court's ruling on the Attorney General of the State became known. This was at an event of the Community of Madrid in Villaviciosa de Odón, to present the Plan for Inclement Winter Weather. In this sense, he stressed that "no judicial sentence, however unjust it may be, will cover up the truth of what is happening in the Community" nor will it make the PSOE stop denouncing "the shenanigans" of Ayuso in the region. He commented that "those from the penthouse don't pay," "they pose as victims," and "they throw a private party that we all pay for." He sought several fronts of attack, with two main ones: the deaths in nursing homes during the pandemic and the president's boyfriend. To the despair of many socialists in the region, who see that this long 30-year period without power in the Community could be extended even further. "One thing is to obey and another is to remain silent," he pointed out.
