spokesman of the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, criticized the constant presence of Russia in this and other electoral campaigns in the United States. "This does not indicate a high level of political culture," Peskov said, reproaching the attempts to gain electoral advantage by harming Russia.
"He will never stoop to that," Peskov said. Although he ruled out that this "habitual practice of political power" in the United States will lead to a deterioration in the already distant bilateral relations between Washington and Moscow. Peskov noted that "this is a reality we are witnessing," mentioning that this has become an integral part of electoral campaigns in recent periods.
Peskov also mentioned that it is unlikely that the recent criticisms will harm bilateral relations beyond their already complicated current state. He criticized the insults from the Democratic candidate and current Vice President, Kamala Harris, towards President Vladimir Putin. Additionally, Peskov denied reports about alleged conversations between President Putin and Donald Trump once he left the White House. "This is not true, that did not happen," Peskov clarified.
