A 37-year-old German fan supporting Bayer Leverkusen was responsible for assaulting a 25-year-old Mexican during a street fight at Cruz Street, in Canalejas Square, at 4:30 in the morning. The fight, which involved supporters of Bayer Leverkusen and a group of Mexicans, left the 25-year-old with bruises, although his transfer to a hospital was not required. The National Police from the Centro district is investigating the incident.
"At the moment, the exact number of arrests is unknown," said a police spokesperson. Samur-Civil Protection deployed a basic unit to the scene and provided assistance to the victim. It was reported that the dispute between the groups of tourists originated inside a nearby nightclub in the early hours and moved to the street.
