Camp Nou in Barcelona is one of the proposed venues to host the Women's Champions League final in 2027, while the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid eagerly awaits UEFA's decision on whether it will host the Men's final in the same year.
The Atlético Madrid stadium is competing with the Olympic Stadium in Baku, Azerbaijan, after San Siro withdrew from the contest. The Metropolitano was the venue for the Champions League final in 2019, where Liverpool crowned themselves European champions by defeating Tottenham.
Madrid has witnessed major sports events in recent times, including Champions League finals and the epic River-Boca match of the Copa Libertadores. Confirmed venues for upcoming editions of the Champions League are Munich in 2025 and Budapest in 2026.
If Camp Nou is chosen as a venue in 2027, it would be the third time in history it hosts the Women's Champions final. On the other hand, Camp Nou would be ready for the 2030 World Cup according to the RFEF and Barcelona. If confirmed, it would join Wanda Metropolitano and Santiago Bernabéu as venues in Spain for that tournament, which will be held jointly with Morocco and Portugal, although the opening matches will be played in South America. In this regard, the Anoeta stadium in San Sebastián and San Mamés in Bilbao have also been previous hosts.
Currently, Camp Nou is under construction and there is no definitive date for its reopening.
