The Guardia Civil has launched an investigation this Monday, November 3, after the crew of a rigid-hulled inflatable boat abandoned a man's body at one of the docks in Puerto Banús, Marbella (Málaga), and fled. The investigation remains open, as confirmed by security force sources. The emergency coordination dispatch has mobilized the 061 Emergency Medical Service, the Local Police, the Fire Department, and the Guardia Civil. The boat's occupants deposited the man's body at the dock and fled. Emergency teams were immediately notified and rushed to the scene. The events occurred at noon, in front of dozens of people in the luxury marina who witnessed the scene. According to sources from the Armed Institute, the vessel entered one of the docks. After attending to the man, paramedics could only certify that he «was deceased». The Guardia Civil has initiated proceedings to clarify what happened. The investigation is now focused on determining the origin of the rigid-hulled inflatable boat and on identifying the victim. The body will be transferred to the Legal Medicine Institute (IML) of Málaga for an autopsy, which will determine the exact cause of death. A key aspect of the investigation will be to determine the exact time of death. Although some eyewitnesses have claimed to have «seen him alive moments before the Guardia Civil's arrival», official sources from the Armed Institute have clarified that when the authorities arrived at the dock, «at that moment he was already deceased».
