Seeks 12 Years for Attempted Homicide in Requena

The Valencia Prosecutor's Office demands 12 years and 7 months for a man accused of attempting to kill a pub waitress and injuring a neighbor in Requena. The incident occurred on November 26, 2021, when the accused brandished a butterfly knife in the establishment, leading to threats and violence.


The Valencia Prosecutor's Office requests a sentence of twelve years and seven months in prison for a man accused of attempted homicide, injuries, and four counts of threats. The accused allegedly tried to kill a waitress at a pub in Requena, also injuring a neighbor and threatening four other people. The events took place on the night of November 26, 2021, when the defendant entered the establishment brandishing a butterfly knife, according to the Prosecutor's Office.

After threatening several men on the street, two of them tried to stop him and a struggle ensued in which one of them was injured in the left eye by the knife. The man faces a sentence of almost thirteen years in prison in the trial scheduled for October 21 at the Provincial Court of Valencia.

At the moment when the waitress asked him to leave the establishment, the accused attempted to stab her in the torso with the intention of taking her life, but the victim managed to evade the attack.
