In Salamanca, an event called 'Silk Route' was held, featuring Chinese designer Tang Zhiru and Salamanca's Fely Campo. The work developed by these artists will be exhibited at the Charra Agora until February 16.
The inauguration of the exhibition took place at the Torre de los Anaya, attracting attention with traditional Chinese performances and Salamanca folklore. The program also included a showcase of Chinese fashion and traditional costumes at the Casino of Salamanca.
On the same day, a sculpture of a snake, created by Chinese artist Xu Hongfei in the Plaza Mayor, was the victim of a theft during the night. Despite this, Xu Hongfei created a new sculpture in the city to commemorate the Chinese New Year dedicated to the Snake.
Local authorities managed to identify those responsible for the theft and recover the stolen piece. The Local Police will proceed to impose the corresponding sanctions, which will be the maximum amount allowed by municipal regulations.
Additionally, the event included activities such as crafts and traditional Chinese medicine; a parade with the lighting of lanterns on Zamora Street and music and dance performances by various artistic schools. A gastronomic exchange between Salamanca and China was also scheduled to take place on February 1 at the Central Market.
