Buenos Aires, December 13 (NA) -- In the midst of FC Sevilla's catastrophic campaign, head coach Matías Almeyda compared the difficult moment the institution is going through with a period from his time on the technical staff of River Plate.
"El Pelado" stated: "What I notice in Sevilla is that the time being lived is very similar to what I lived during my time at River, when the team was being practically taken to relegation".
"They give you nothing in your favor, everything that is done is wrong... from that place I see similarities, but I do not confirm them," Almeyda concluded his statement, as reported by the Argentine News Agency (NA).
The words of the Argentine coach reflect the climate of tension surrounding the Andalusian club, which is going through one of the most irregular seasons in recent years, with poor sporting results, criticism from the press, and growing discontent from fans.

Almeyda, who took over with the aim of starting a process of football reconstruction, emphasized that these types of adverse contexts require mental strength and conviction in daily work, beyond immediate results.
In this sense, he recalled that at River he lived a limit experience that ended up being key to his formation as a coach.
Although he avoided making a direct comparison between the two situations, the coach made it clear that he recognizes similar signals in the environment and external pressure, factors that he considers decisive for the development of a long-term sports project.
