A shooting occurred along the A5 highway in Toledo, Spain, leading to a police intervention that left a young woman injured. The suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended by the Guardia Civil.

The Civil Guard is searching for a known criminal who was involved in a shooting on the Southwest highway (A-5) last Friday afternoon. During the incident, gunshots were heard, and one of them hit the fleeing vehicle while several witnesses recorded the scene. Later, the criminal's partner showed up alone at a health center in Torrijos, located about 15 kilometers away, from where the Civil Guard was notified.

The event took place in broad daylight near the Toledo town of Santa Cruz del Retamar, with several drivers witnessing the police intervention that resulted in traffic being interrupted and congestion being generated. Agents from the main post in Valmojado stopped a dark vehicle to identify its occupants, who turned out to be the known local criminal and his partner, a 14-year-old girl. When attempting to identify the criminal in the middle of the road, he displayed a firearm and tried to charge at the officers, according to sources close to the investigation.

Two officers managed to open the driver's door, but he refused to exit, accelerating in an attempt to run over the civil guards, who used their service weapons upon realizing that the individual was carrying a gun. The girl was shot in one shoulder and was taken to Toledo University Hospital for medical attention.

According to ABC, the gunshot wound suffered by the girl was clean, with an exit wound and an entry wound, and she is currently hospitalized for her recovery.
