Mali's Aliou Diangé, midfielder for Al Ahly, is set to embark on a new chapter in his football career after joining Spanish football club Valencia on a free transfer, according to reports. The African Soccer website revealed that Diangé completed the transfer procedures late on Monday, with the Andalusian club securing his electronic signature on a three-year contract. This effectively ends Al Ahly's hopes of extending Diangé's contract, despite the African club of the century's attempts to persuade the player to renew. Diangé has been a cornerstone for Al Ahly since joining from Algerian club Mouloudia in 2019, firmly establishing himself as a key player in the midfield. Last season, Diangé was on loan at Saudi club Al-Hilal during the tenure of Swiss coach Marcel Koller. This season, Diangé has played 31 matches for Al Ahly in all competitions, scoring one goal against Tanzanian side Young Africans in the group stage of the CAF Champions League. The 26-year-old Diangé is currently on international duty with his national team, preparing for a friendly match against Russia later this evening.
