Violence Erupts at Gran Canaria Football Match

The match between CD Teldecosta and CD Arena Futboltec, which took place in Gran Canaria, Spain, was canceled in the 77th minute due to a brawl that broke out on the field. According to the referee's report, the situation became chaotic after a player was sent off, triggering a fight involving more than 20 individuals. The officials of the match were forced to take refuge in their dressing room after receiving threats from players, leading to the temporary suspension of the game.

The incident began when a local player was dismissed and one of his teammates assaulted an opponent. The referees, feeling their safety was at risk, decided to leave the field quickly. Unable to secure the door with a lock, they improvised a barrier with a stick. "Open up, daughters of b%$&*, we are going to burst you," was one of the threats they heard, according to close sources.

Although the authorities arrived at the scene, the attackers had fled. The referees managed to identify some of those involved. The incident generated outrage and sparked a debate about safety in local football. The confrontation was part of the male Second Regional, a non-professional league but subject to competitive tensions.

The coach and the responsible person from the visiting team offered support to the referees and volunteered to protect them until the police arrived. The cancellation of the match in the 77th minute and the subsequent events may lead to sanctions for the involved players and the home team, according to the decision of the corresponding disciplinary committee.
