Currently, we have lost interest in deep culture, respect, solidarity, and dialogue due to the influence of screens and social media. This change in the way we think and relate has facilitated the spread of organized deception, where online platforms tend to show us only what aligns with our own beliefs and prejudices, trapping us in bubbles of false information where lies can seem like truth if repeated constantly.
Amidst this chaos, figures like Trump and his allies, including Musk with his economic and technological power, become relevant. The fragility of current leaders is highlighted, along with the sense of insecurity and fear this brings to society. However, it is important to remember that, although nothing seems solid, the future is not yet defined and will depend on whether we choose to remain divided or risk building something better.
In this scenario, there is a proliferation of repetitive messages, fake news, and hate-laden rhetoric that spread uncontrollably. Despite this, history teaches us that abuses of power eventually crumble, especially when citizens decide to speak out and denounce falsehoods. To counter this trend, measures such as educating in critical thinking, fostering empathy and solidarity, voting consciously, and acting collaboratively in situations of global crises are proposed.
The urgency to combat the strategy of division and manipulation used by figures like Trump and Musk, who seek to perpetuate their power by leveraging fear, hatred, and simplification of messages, is emphasized. Despite their lies and mistakes, it is necessary for society not to remain passive and to work together to counter these polarizing discourses and creators of imaginary enemies.
In this regard, two crucial problems are identified. On one hand, the current world faces an alarming trend towards fragmentation and mass manipulation, which hinders cooperation and joint action to tackle global issues such as climate change and inequality. On the other hand, the prevalence of a culture that rewards selfishness, greed, and success at any cost is highlighted, perpetuating an environment where values and interpersonal relationships become liquid and ephemeral, as described by Zygmunt Bauman. In light of this situation, individuals are urged to raise their voices against injustice, demand accountability from the powerful, advocate for peace, and care for the environment as ways to counteract the dehumanization and superficiality prevailing in contemporary society.
