One of the key points is the taking of statements from the complainants as protected witnesses. The lawyer for Julio Iglesias is seeking access to the complaint and the Prosecutor's file to decide whether to take legal action against the two complainants, as he has already done against the outlet that broke the story, Diario.es, and against the Second Vice President of the Government, Yolanda Díaz. This is for the alleged violation of the presumption of innocence of the singer, who accused him of sexual and labor abuse against the complainants. A court of the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the National Court has summoned this Friday the lawyer for Julio Iglesias and the Prosecutor's Office to decide if the singer can sue the Public Prosecutor's Office for its refusal to hand over the complaint that two former employees filed against him for alleged sexual abuse and its investigation proceedings, which were ultimately archived. The 5th Court of the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of this court has summoned both parties this March 27 to hold an urgent appearance to resolve whether the acts of the Prosecutor's Office are appealable by the contentious-administrative route or if, as the Public Prosecutor's Office maintains, this entity cannot be subject to this type of lawsuits, as reported this Wednesday by Okdiario and confirmed to EFE by legal sources. Iglesias's lawyer, Jose Antonio Choclán, opted to go to court after the Prosecutor's Office opposed several times handing over the complaint, which was filed by the association Women's Link Worldwide on behalf of those two former employees. He has also demanded from the Deputy Prosecutor of the National Court, Marta Durántez, who was in charge of investigating the complaint, the investigations she carried out before archiving it for lack of jurisdiction of Spanish courts, as the facts occurred in the Dominican Republic.
