The Europa League has concluded its league phase, with 24 teams qualified for the final phase, of which eight advanced directly to the Round of 16. In this edition, UEFA made significant changes to the tournament format, eliminating the groups of four teams and moving to a format with 36 teams competing in an eight-match league phase.
At the end of this phase, all teams were ranked in a general table. The top eight teams in the table qualified directly for the Round of 16, while the teams from ninth to twenty-fourth will have to play a playoff round (two-legged) to determine the last eight teams that will advance to the next phase. Teams that finished in 25th place and lower have been eliminated.
Among the teams qualified for the Round of 16 of the Europa League are Lazio, Athletic Bilbao, Manchester United, Tottenham, Eintracht Frankfurt, Lyon, Olympiacos, and Rangers. Meanwhile, teams such as Bodo Glimt, Anderlecht, FCSB, Ajax, Real Sociedad, Galatasaray, AS Roma, Viktoria Plzen, Ferencvaros, Porto, AZ Alkmaar, FC Midtjylland, St. Gilloise, PAOK, Twente, and Fenerbahce have qualified for the final phase of the competition.
