Cadillac to Join F1 World Championship in 2026

Cadillac will be part of the Formula One grid starting next year, as confirmed by the FIA. This adds excitement to the upcoming championships with new teams.

The International Automobile Federation (FIA) and the Formula One officials announced that Cadillac will be part of the grid competing in the Formula One World Championship starting next year. After completing sports, technical, and commercial assessments, the request from General Motors and TWG Motorsports to include a Cadillac team in Formula One was approved.

The official statement released this Friday confirms Cadillac's participation in the championship starting in 2026, coinciding with the change in technical regulations. With this addition, next year's championship will feature 22 drivers from eleven teams, unless more teams are accepted.

In the 2025 season, which will see Max Verstappen (Red Bull) defending his title and aiming for his fifth consecutive championship, twenty drivers will compete, including Spaniard Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin), two-time world champion, from ten teams. Among them is McLaren, the last winner of the Constructors' Championship, a feat not achieved since 1998.

The 2026 Formula One World Championship calendar will include 24 races, such as the Spanish Grand Prix on June 1 and the Mexican Grand Prix on October 26. The season will start on March 16 at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne, home of the Australian Grand Prix, and will conclude with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina on December 7.
