The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) announced it will have six direct qualification spots for the 2030 World Cup and a seventh will be available as part of an intercontinental playoff. The two best teams from each group will qualify for a 2030 World Cup that will be held mainly in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, with one match in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay. The 24 teams will be divided into six groups of four, and each nation will play six matches in October and November 2027, and March 2028. Concacaf said on Friday that qualification will begin in September 2027 with its teams ranked from 14th to 35th playing a first round of two-legged ties on aggregate goals. The 11 winners will advance to the second round along with its top 13 ranked nations. The two best teams from each group advance to a final round of 12 nations, to be played in June 2028, and September and October 2029. There will be three groups in the final round, and each nation will play six matches.
