Media reports have indicated that FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta will resign from his post in the coming hours to pave the way for the upcoming presidential elections for the 'Blaugrana'. It has been reported that Laporta's presidency will officially end on Monday, February 9th, following Barcelona's match against Mallorca in La Liga. This step will make him eligible to run for re-election. If Laporta wins the elections, scheduled for March 15th, he will not return to his position until July 1st. In the meantime, Vice President Rafa Yuste will serve as the interim president. It was also noted that any titles Barcelona may win after Monday will not count under Laporta's official presidency.
