Vinicius Calls Racists Cowards After Benfica Incident

Brazilian forward Vinicius Jr. made a strong statement following the incident he had this Wednesday with Argentine Gianluca Prestianni: 'Racists are above all cowards'.

The scandal took place during the first leg playoff match between Real Madrid of Spain and Benfica of Portugal, when Vinicius accused Prestianni of racism, as he would have repeatedly called him a monkey.

In this context, Vinicius issued a strong statement obtained by the Argentine News Agency, which begins as follows: 'Racists are above all cowards'.

Elsewhere, Prestianni defended himself, stating that Vinicius misinterpreted what he said, while Benfica published a video in which it stated that 'due to the distance, the Real Madrid players could not hear what they claim to have heard'.

Meanwhile, UEFA is studying the official match report to open a procedure, which could lead to a heavy sanction for Prestianni.
