The province of Guadalajara has celebrated its day at Fitur with the presence of authorities such as the Minister of Equality and Social Welfare, Sara Simón, and the General Director of Tourism, Commerce, and Crafts, Ana Isabel Fernández Samper. They highlighted the tourist growth of the region, positioning Guadalajara as the sixth most dynamic tourist destination.
Simon mentioned that Guadalajara leads growth in the region, especially in the number of overnight stays, as a result of the work and planning of the Board. This is due to the investment boost in tourism, with an investment of 14.2 million euros in sustainability plans. The implementation of plans in various localities, including Guadalajara capital, reinforces the tourism potential of the province.
For his part, the Tourism Councilor of Guadalajara, Víctor Morejón, emphasized that 2025 will be a key year for the city's tourism strategy. There has been significant growth in local tourism, which has led to Guadalajara being selected as the venue for the semifinal of the International Valencian Paella Competition of Sueca.
Morejón stressed the importance of preserving the city’s traditions as part of its identity. Additionally, various tourist improvement initiatives have been promoted, such as the rehabilitation of the House of Painter Carlos Santiesteban and the renovation of tourist signage. Alliances have also been established with other localities and companies in the sector to enhance tourism in the region. The minister celebrated the inclusion of Anguita and Pastrana as Tourist Municipalities, recognizing their commitment to sustainable and quality services.
