The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has approved collaboration agreements with the provincial councils of Albacete and Guadalajara, and with the Impulsa Foundation to ensure the continuity of the bibliobus service during this year. The spokesperson councillor, Esther Padilla, highlighted that this service is highly valued by citizens as it allows the delivery of reading and culture to small municipalities without a public library.

A total of 420,000 euros will be allocated in both agreements, of which 120,000 will be for Albacete and nearly 300,000 for Guadalajara. The Regional Government and the provincial councils will collaborate to ensure that more than 31,000 people in towns with fewer than 1,000 inhabitants continue to access thousands of books for free in both provinces.

In Albacete, the service will reach over 7,100 inhabitants through a bibliobus that travels through 20 municipalities with 22 stops. In Guadalajara, more than 24,000 people will benefit thanks to three vehicles that make 157 stops in 149 municipalities.

The councillor also reported on the transfer of the old grain storage silo to the City Council of Ossa de la Vega in Cuenca to dedicate it to cultural and sports activities. These actions reflect institutional collaboration in the service of citizens, as highlighted by Padilla.

In summary, the approval of these agreements guarantees the continuity of a service appreciated by citizens in Castilla-La Mancha, bringing reading and culture to rural areas through the bibliobuses.
