A violent robbery shook the company Lucena Valle de Aras this morning, dedicated to the sale of hams, cheeses, and wines. Five hooded men crashed a vehicle into the entrance of the facilities located on the Rute road, kilometer 3, around 5:15 a.m. After the impact, the thieves entered the establishment and took 44 high-end pieces, including hams from well-known brands such as Cinco Jotas, Joselito, and Ibesa, as well as pork loins from Sánchez Romero and Cinco Jotas.
The company has not yet determined the total value of what was stolen, but it is estimated that these hams are priced between 600 and 800 euros. The sellers have expressed their concern for the safety of the location and demand improved protection measures, which they consider insufficient.
The events have been reported to the National Police, which is already conducting the pertinent investigations. The thieves, after committing the robbery, fled in another vehicle they had prepared for the getaway. These types of incidents are not isolated in the province, particularly during times close to holidays like Holy Week, when the products have higher demand in the black market.
This episode has generated great concern in the Valle de Aras company, which in addition to material losses, will have to face the costs to repair the damage caused during the robbery. The local community is keeping a close eye on the progress of the police investigation and on the security measures that may be implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future.
