MADRID, Reuters — Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares warned on Tuesday that any Israeli ground invasion of Lebanon would be a grave mistake. Albares stated that Madrid has demanded that Hezbollah cease launching rockets toward Israel. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees announced that Spain will send nine million euros ($10.5 million) in humanitarian aid to Beirut. Meanwhile, the UN agency said that the lives of many in Lebanon have been turned upside down amid a broader Middle East conflict, after the number of internally displaced people registered in the country surpassed 667,000, an increase of 100,000 in a single day.
